Manila---Fresh from a successful campaign in the PACE FIDE Rapid Rated Chess Tournament 2099, US based NM Oshrie Jhames "OJ" Reyes is set to pursue another major title at the PACE Standard FIDE Rated 2300 Under on July 18 to 19, 2026 at the Robinsons Novaliches, Quezon City.
The 15-year-old Reyes, who hails from Barangay Dila-Dila, Santa Rita, Pampanga, won the PACE FIDE Rapid Rated Chess Tournament 2099 at the Victory Plaza Mall, Caloocan City last June 20,2026.
"I hope to do well in this event and gain some elo rating points," said Reyes.
Also competing in the tournament in the PACE Standard FIDE Rated 2300 under are IM Rolando Nolte, IM Barlo Nadera and IM Ronald Bancod.
It shall be recalled that Oshrie James Reyes and his younger brother Prince Jhamie Reyes both finished strong with perfect 4/4 scores as the 2026 Louisiana Tournament of Champions Qualifier concluded. The tournament was held at Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA.
Oshrie is the new Louisiana State Champion (Grades 9–12) and Prince Jhamie is the State Champion (K–5).
Both will represent Louisiana at the prestigious Tournament of Champions, held August 3–6, 2026, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.-Marlon Bernardino-
