THE Youth Sport Sambo competition for ages 16 to 18 years old will be on June 25 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.
The male category will be 53kg, 58kg, 64kg, 71kg, 79kg, 88kg, 98kg and +98kg while the women are 47kg, 50kg, 54kg, 59kg, 65kg, 72kg, 80kg and +80kg.
“The preliminary and semifinals bouts will be held from 10 am to 4 pm,” said Paolo Tancontian, president of the Pilipinas Sambo Federation Inc.
The finals and awarding ceremony will be held at 6 pm to 8 pm.
Meanwhile, the weigh-in for the Junior [18-20 yrs. Old Sport and Combat Sambo [born 2006-2008] will be on June 25.
The categories are: male – 58kg. 64kg, 71kg, 79kg, 88kg, 98kg and +98kg; female – 50kg, 54kg, 59kg, 65kg, 72kg, 80 and +80kg.
On June 26 at 3 pm will be the weigh-in for Adult Sport [male – 79kg, 88kg, 98kg, +98kg; female – 65kg, 72kg, 80kg, +80kg] & Combat Samb0 [male – 58kg, 64kg, 71kg; female-50kg, 54kg, 59kg]
At 5 pm, the opening ceremony of the SUAO Continental Championships will start while finals will be held at 6 pm.
The awarding of the Junior Sports and Combat Sambo is set at 8 pm.
It is part of the 2026 Asia & Oceania Sambo Championships which ends on June 28.
