FEATHERWEIGHT Alfred “Destroyer” Deaño of Davao City will fight again in Bangkok against Jirapan “Chilaphan Cawhayong” Nakornluan of Thailand for the Asian Boxing Federation [ABF] super featherweight title on June 27 at the World Siam Stadium.
“My opponent is also strong. We just need a little patience in practice,” said 35-year-old Deaño [13-1-2, 10KOs].
Deaño is presently training at the LA Gym in Maysilo, Malabon under Coach Rene Toto Bañarez.
“We need focus so we can get the championship belt,” said Deaño.
Deaño recently settled to a split draw with Kaishu Harada last April 5 at the Sangyo Shinko Center in Osaka.
He lost to ZhiGang Zhang of China by a split decision for the vacant WBC Far East super featherweight title last December 28, 2024 at Wuyuan River Stadium, in Haikou.
Deaño will leave on June 24 together with wife Jessebelle “Jazzy Jezzy” Pagaduan and trainer Bañarez.
Pagaduan [14-3-1, 5KOs] is also a light flyweight boxer from Benguet.
Nakornluang [14-1-0, 10KOs], on the other hand, beat Nathan Bokin by a unanimous decision last October 10 to win the WBC Youth Intercontinental featherweight title.
He suffered a retirement to compatriot Phisit Paochanthuek last February 28 in Bangkok.
The boxing event is dubbed as the “Warrior Showdown”.
It is presented by the Highland Boxing Promotions under Brico Santig.
