Pido retains crown, Pulleda wins

POLICEMAN Jonathan Pido retained his crown by clocking 10 hours, 30 minutes and 17 seconds in the second SIGLO 100km Ultramarathon held May 30-31 at in-and- out back course at the Magsaysay Park in Sta. Ana Avenue, Davao City

“The weather was nice but it was difficult at first because there was a lot of traffic,” said Pido.

He managed to leave the opponents at the turning point about four kilometers away in Lasang.

The 42-year-old Pido of Tagum City earned P10,000 and a trophy.

Ibrahim Amerhasan placed second with 12:24:17 followed by Jake Soriano with 12:35:17.

Amerhasan got P6,000 while Soriano pocketed P4,000.

In the distaff side, Nova Pulleda emerged as the new champion with a time of 12:39:43.

Second was lanky Phil Christy Paculio with 13:23:35 followed by veteran Olive Firmeza [13:36:21].

Pulleda also earned P10,000 while Paculio and Firmeza got P6,000 and P4,000, respectively.

Defending ladies champion Evelyn “Bakachang” Morales of Digos City did not participate at the last minute.

Race director was Rod Lanorias of Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity.
