THE much-awaited The Punisher Ultra Marathon is set on May 30 and 31 at the Samal Island Nature Park [Bandera Nature Park] in Barangay Bandera, Kaputian District, Igacos.
“The finish line will be at the Kaputian Beach Park,” said race director Romualdo “Doi” Calbes of the Vertical To Sky Sports Philippines.
It will have four categories – 15-kilometer, 25km, 50km and 80km.
The gunstart at 80km at 4 am on May 30.
“It will have a 25 hours cut-off, until 5am on Sunday, May 31,” said Calbes.
The others:
50km – 1pm on Saturday, May 30, 16 hours cut-off, until 5am onSunday
25km – 4am on Sunday, May 31, 8 hours cut-off, until 12nn same day
15km – 5:30am on Sunday, May 31, 5 hours & 30 minutes cut-off, until 11am same day
“We don’t have an intermediate cut-off for all categories, only a cut-off at the finish line,” said Calbes.
There will be two to three kilometers additional distance of each category.
“Don't worry it's free of charge, no additional charges,” said Calbes.
The event is supported by AsiaTrail Master, DOT, American Trail Running Association, ITRA National League, Intra[International Trail Running Association], UTMB Index and the Province of Davaodel Province.
Hisashi Kitamura, 46, of Japan won the 80km The Punisher UltraMarathon in 2022.
Arnie Macarenas and Godwin Mirar finished second and third, respectively.
