UNBEATEN Jhonel “The Terror” Lastimosa of Ozamis City will fight against Robel dela Cerna of Compostela Valley for the vacant Philippine Boxing Federation Youth light flyweight title on June 21 at the DRP Sports Complex in Barangay Putatan, Muntinlupa City.
“I am confident that I will be the winner,” said 21-year-old Lastimosa [4-0-2, 3KOs].
He is trained by his father Felixberto Lastimosa Jr., 50 at the Glenford Fitness Boxing Gym in Lower Bicutan, Taguig City.
He is managed by PBF vice-president Glenford Rafa for two years now.
His younger brother Jhon Lowie Lastimosa, 20, will also see action in the curtain raiser in his debut against newcomer Marlon Clave.
“I’m excited and confident that I can also knock out Dela Cerna,” said Lastimosa.
Lastimosa recently scored a knockout on Jerimy Balino of Tondoin the 1st round last April 25 at Delpan Sports Complex in Binondo, Manila.
He started as a professional in 2024 with two straight wins against Carl Villafranca [UD 4] and Francisco Remolacio [KO 1].
Last year, he made a split draw against Roger Esclamado of Mandaluyong then stopped Paranaque’s Ramcie Mondala [KO 1].
Lastimosa then settled a majority draw with Anthony Galan last October 26 in San Andres Sports Complex in Malate.
Dela Cerna [4-3-0, 2KOs], on the other hand, settled a split draw against Rainier John Antipona last April 26 in General Santos City.
The fight is billed as “Bakbakan sa Putatan’. It is promoted by Dave Almario of DS Almario Promotion with Art Monis as the matchmaker.
