JAYSON “The Smasher” Mama of General Santos City is now ready to face former IBF World flyweight champion Angel Ayala of Mexico on May 21 at Arena CDMX in Mexico City.
“Yes, I'm 100% ready,” said Mama [21-3-1, 10KOs].
Mama, however, doesn’t know yet when they will go to Mexico.
“Let's win, we can do it,” he said.
Mama, who is fighting for 117 pounds, is training with coach Dondon Jemenia at the Sanman Boxing Gym in Gensan.
“Ayala is also good, but it can only be achieved through timing and strategy,” said Mama.
Mama recently beat Ramel Antaran by a unanimous decision last November 9 at Villa Kristen Resort and Hotel in Gensan.
Mama earlier lost to Ricardo Malajika of South Africa in the 5th round technical knockout for the IBO World super flyweight title last August 9 in Kempton Park.
Ayala [18-1-0, 8KOs], on the other hand, lost his title to Masamichi Yabuki of Japan by a 12th round technical knockout last March 29 at Aichi Sky Expo in Tokoname.
