Soledad wins WBC Asian Continental title

REYMART Soledad of Rizal scored a smashing 5th round knockout against Apinun Khongsong of Thailand to win the WBC Asian Continental welterweight title last November 29 at the World Siam Stadium in Baskani, Bangkok.

It was Soledad’s 6th knockout and 8th win with no loss or draw while Khongsong suffered his 5th loss against 25 wins.

The 25-year-old Soledad earlier won the Asian Boxing Federation super lightweight title by stopping Jatupol Raksapet of Thailand last May 31 in Bangkok.

Meanwhile, Jack Scott [20-3-0, 11KOs] of United Kingdom scored an upset over Harald Pfinhsrl [18-1-0, 12KOs] of Austria for the WBC Asian light heavyweight title.

Two other title fights were also held.

Nineteen-year-old Blair Geraghty of Australia stopped Suphachoti Phobai of Thailand in the 6th round to win the WBC Asian Youth super light title.

Elliott Matthews of the United Kingdom beat Ahmad Samif Dawrani of Afghanistan by a unanimous decision to win WBC Asian Continental super middle title.

It was the WBC Night of Champions as part of the 63rd WBC and 1st WBC Muaythai Convention.

Supanat Chanram and Brico Santig of Highland Boxing Team were the promoters.
