“To Me, You Won that Fight,” said Coach Nonoy Neri to Ariel Antimaro

BANGKOK, Thailand — “To me, you won that fight.” That’s what beloved veteran Davaoeño coach Nonoy Neri said to his boxer Ariel Antimaro (8-3-2-1, 2 KOs), immediately after Antimaro was denied victory in his tough fight against strong Thai WBC Asia Featherweight Champion Sathaporn Saart (15-2, 8 KOs).

The hard-fought clash between 🇹🇭 Sathaporn Saart and Ariel Antimaro unfolded on Friday evening September 27 at the Suamlum Bazaar in Ratchadaphisek, Bangkok, Thailand.

There were no knockdowns during the thrilling 10-round rumble televised live on Thailand’s Channel 8, an encounter that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

At the end, unanimous scores for the title battle were 96-94 (x3), all in favor of the local fighter promoted by the fight’s promoter NKL Promotions.

However, it appeared that the young Pinoy boxer born in Agusan del Sur had done enough to deserve at least draw.

But a draw was not awarded to him by the all-Thai panel of judges.

“In my heart, Ariel Antamaro did a good job, and I feel proud of him,” said big coach Nonoy Neri afterwards.

Philboxing, the Filipino boxing portal attended the match, believing that a draw would have been fair.
