Aldea draws with Masahiro in OPBF bout

ROLDAN “The Cobra” Aldea of Kabankalan City settled a majority draw with Japanese Masahiro Suzuki for the vacant Orient and Pacific Boxing Federation lightweight title last September 7 at The Flash Grand Ballroom of the Elorde Sports Complex in Paranaque City.

Judge Gil Co saw the fight for Aldea at 116-112 but judges Silvestre Abainza and Nobuto Ikehara both scored at 114-all.

The 29-year-old Aldea, who recently defended the Philippine lightweight crown against Leonardo Doronio by a unanimous decision last April, improved his record to 18 wins, 9 loses, 2 draws with 10 knockouts.

Meanwhile, Joe “Jaw Breaker” Noynay of Cebu stopped Argie “Bomba” Toguero of Zamboanga at 1:17 in the 1st round to retain the Philippine welterweight crown in his first title defense.

The 29-year-old Noynay is also the reigning IBF Pan Pacific welterweight champion and WBO Asia Pacific super featherweight champion.

Archiel Villamor defeated Niko Entero by a UD;

Harry Omac knocked out Juanito Hundante in the 1st round;

Alejandro Patrick Meniano won by a majority decision over Dennis Malavergal;

Luis Borje won over Mark Jeguinto by a MD;

Herovan Beltran defeated Paul Alera by a UD.

The boxing event was promoted by Gabriel ‘’Bebot” Elorde Jr.
