THE Garde brothers Richard and Arnold put up an easy job against their opponents as MinProBA comes back to the limelight at Pres. Roxas in North Cotabato.
Richard Garde landed countless jabs and punches to knock out Ronald Ewican of Misamis at 2:29 of the 1st round to win the Mindanao Professional Boxing Association (MinProBA) mini-flyweight championship.
The 26-year-old Garde improved his record to six wins with five knockouts and one loss.
Elder brother Arnold “Destroyer” Garde also stopped Bonjun Loperez of Davao City at 2:14 of the 1st round in the main supporting bout.
The 32-year-old Garde now has 11 wins with 14 loses and five draws.
In 6-rounds, undefeated Jemar Layom won over Ryan Makiputin of Bukidnon by a unanimous decision while unbeaten Jaymar Gaballo of General Santos City scored a technical knockout over Juanito Hondante in the 6th round.
The other results:
Christian Dave Puing stopped Rusty Padua in the 1st round;
Arnold Montales drubbed Jacklien Serenoso by a unanimous decision;
Kenth Darwin Gaballo knocked out Rogelio Boyles in the 1st round;
Arnel Lofranco knocked out Jered Leya in the 2nd round;
Junaren Gallego TKO’d Patrick Piala in the 3rd round.
Alan Calalas of Alas Promotion is the promoter while the matchmaker is Rodel Garde.
Meanwhile, the MinProBA is having a meeting soon at the Elorde Boxing Gym in Matina, Davao City.
Among those expected to attend are Alfie Angelo Jonsay, Nonoy and Vanessa Neri, Alan Calalas, Firmo Aligato, Rey Caneos Marban, Doc Toto Sajulga, Manny Pinol, Dexter Tan and JC Manangquil.
MinProBA will again make its monthly ratings of the Mindanao boxers and conduct its championship and Boxer of the Month.
