Jonel Gadapan captured the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) Asia-Pacific lightweight title Sunday in Iligan City against Nelson Tinampay.
Tinampay suffered a cut in the second round due to a legal punch and failed to answer the bell to start round six.
Gadapan, who is from Iligan City, goes up to 11W-8L-2D,7KO?s while Tinampay, from Bohol, drops to 9W-2L,4KO?s.
Sanman Promotions CEO Jim Claude Manangquil informed philboxing of the fight results. There will be another WBF title fight staged in Gen.Santos City on February 13 when John Vincent Moralde battles Anthony Sabalde for the vacant WBF International featherweight belt.
